Antique and Collectible Book Store on the Gold Coast, a must visit….

Before Ben and I started our family we could waste away hours in a day browsing in book shops and being drawn in by all different topics and texts. Some days we’d walk out with nothing after hours of browsing and sometimes we’d walk out bags heavy with several books each.  Our interests have always been very different from one another and for the main part worlds apart. Although Ben has grown more accustomed to my thrifty, op shopping, vintage loving ways, there’s one place on the Gold Coast we could both waste hours away in when it comes to…

Where I live, the Gold Coast a Flashback…..

When I read the blogs of my fellow bloggers from all over the world, some of the posts I enjoy the most are those, where I see a peek into the world where they live. I love the posts where we are shown around a city, see pictures, videos or are told the history of an area or architecture. For quite sometime I’ve wanted to share with you all where I live and just the other day the perfect inspiration came my way. For those who are unaware I live on the Gold Coast in Queensland Australia. I have lived…

Final ProBlogger Style Round Up & Lessons Learnt…..

If you’ve already popped in this week you’ll know that last weekend I attending my first ProBlogger conference and I’ve shared some style posts here and here.  Well I’m not quite done, but I do have two outfits left to share with you all, but I thought I’d mix it up in a post with some of the valuable lessons I feel I’ve learnt from attending. I hope this mash up post with style pics and conference insights is fun and useful to others too. On the first official day of the conference, I went with my old faithful and…

“AHOY” What I Wore at ProBlogger Nautical Theme Night…..

Early last week Ben and I were having a chuckle at  my chosen outfit for the ProBlogger Networking night. The theme was “Ahoy” so a nautical edge was required, but me being me and different, I of course had to go with an abstract interpretation on the theme. My frock of course was vintage and I even got all thrifty with some op shopping and did some upcycling to have the perfect bag to accompany my ensemble.Ben will happily tell you that he thought that my interpretation of the theme was tenuous at best. But thank goodness for fellow bloggers…

What I Wore inside the Annie Sloan Cocktail Event at ProBlogger…..

If you caught yesterday’s post you’ll know I’m riding high on happiness from attending my first ever ProBlogger conference where I met some amazing people and had some super fun opportunities. One of those super fun opportunities was to be invited to attend the Annie Sloan Unfolded Cocktail Event, which was held for thirty bloggers where we were able to get up close and personal with the popular and versatile Chalk Paint. Even though it was a cocktail and workshop event where we could get hands on with the Annie Sloan products, I took the opportunity to dress up in cocktail attire…

Rocking 60’s Mini Dress on Ladies Night Out With the School Mums…..

Last Saturday night I did something I haven’t done in the longest time, and I mean the longest of longest times. I had a ladies night out, with an amazing gang (we call ourselves the gang) of mummy friends I have made through Cohen starting school. We all get along wonderfully and are all very different from each other and it gives us a wonderful dynamic and laughter when we’re all together. Our night out had been planned for weeks and as luck would have it in the days leading up to Saturday every possible challenge was thrown our collective way,…

Greazefest 2014 – Cars, Pin Ups, Dancing, Vintage and Fun…..

We had a wonderful day out yesterday at the GreazeFest Kustom Kulture Festival in Brisbane at the Rocklea Showgrounds. The festival is a three day event filled with cool cars, rockabilly music, fashion and pinups, vintage bikes, pin stripers, tattoos, markets and so much more, including fun for the kids. From the moment we walked through the gates, the kids were excited and were calling to us to look at the cool cars, all the colour and girls. We walked through the market stalls and vintage sellers sites. Ben looked for old style bowling shirts and Cohen couldn’t help but…

Vintage Children’s Clothing Why I love it So……

I’ve been collecting and swooning over vintage children’s clothing for a long time, and I’ve been selling pieces on and off for many years and now as a full fledged business. Many people have asked me along the way why I love vintage children’s clothing and other children’s items. Just like many of us vintage lovers do, I love the style, quality, make and designs of vintage clothing. I find so much love and nostalgia in the baby and children’s pieces I come by, especially those from earlier eras before mass production when children’s clothing was mostly handmade by expectant…

AHOY Sailor Boy Gets Christened……

We have had an incredible week and yesterday we added to that and had a special occasion with our wee man Fraser being christened. It was quite a hilarious morning at the church, between the delirium of Fraser’s godfather having only had two hours sleep and taking selfies, getting the giggles and Cohen announcing he knew all about evolution loud enough for most of the church to hear. Our kids have a wide knowledge of a lot of things, and there are very few subjects that are off limits, as a result it’s always interesting the times and places they…
