Pipsqueak Paparazzi Sarah Style…..

Sarah has been blowing my mind lately with her general awareness and consciousness of all things vintage. It’s not like I skip around the house saying that’s vintage, that’s vintage in a la-de-da melody. But I guess through her being my daughter, me being who I am, the business and passion I have, that over time she’s developing a knowing of her own.It seems to be most present with her interest in clothing. Everyday modern kids clothes don’t garner much reaction from her even though she has plenty of those, but if it’s different, handmade and whether she knows it…

What Sarah Wore for Christmas Dinner, it’s Vintage Darling……

I hinted many weeks back that I was super excited to share with you Sarah’s Christmas gifts that I had hunted down for her. I’m so thrilled she loved her vintage gifts and funnily enough it also appears as though she “may” have started to develop an eye for spotting vintage herself. On Christmas Day she unwrapped her gift of the vintage dress and tooled leather bag and her first response was a giggle followed by her saying in tiny voice “it’s vintage” and gasping a little. I had not said a thing to her or primed her about the…

Girls Vintage Dress Strap Alice Headband….

I’ve been wading through a recent mending job pile, and as I’ve been been doing so I’ve been looking for ways to make the most of every piece and scrap of vintage fabric through this process. This dress you see now, didn’t originally look like this. Sorry I don’t have original pics but imagine if you will slight puffed prairie shoulders in the red finished off with the black floral to the elbow and tapered for a tight fit. It was gorgeous but the red fabric had seen better days. Would you believe too that this dress was also missing…

What a lovely weekend we’ve just had. I hope yours has been too. Celebrations and fun abound for our household and friends. Of course one of the biggest celebrations for us was the new look here and further motions and steps into me actualising my vintage dream. We also celebrated a friends 60th birthday with a surprise party at a local tavern, were guest were expected to dress up in 50’s-60’s attire. I pushed the boundaries to the late 1960’s with this stunning American long sheer sleeved floral maxi dress. Sarah donned a little vintage dress and bobby socks and…

Boys Formal Waistcoat Vest Revamp…..

When op shopping I frequently see little boy waistcoat vests selling for next to nothing. I imagine they are often bought for a formal occasion like a wedding or christening and never worn again by these little men. So when I saw a little waistcoat vest with a weird bunny appliqué on it recently I knew there was a revamping project in the waiting. So with a few buttons and some off cuts of denim and a needle and thread, I was in business and whipped up this little revamp number whilst watching TV. I even used a bright red…

Tie Dye Terry Towelling Cloth Nappies…..

I’ve often spoken about breastfeeding in posts and trying to work my vintage style around it. But what you may not know about us is that we also use cloth nappies full time. We mainly use Modern Cloth Nappies, but with it being summer it’s hard to pass up the good old terry square that has graced many of our own bottoms back in the day. I thought I’d show off these lovelies. As you know I love colour and I’m always up for something different. A dear mummy friend of mine tie dyed two dozen terry toweling nappies for…
