Want to try the plaid trend? Hit the Op Shops….

I’m going to start out by saying that I personally don’t see plaid or tartan as fashion trend because it’s something that I have always enjoyed styling. In fact this post was originally published in June 2015 and it’s being revived and updated because what do you know plaid is still having it’s moment. If you play with current fashion trends you’ll already be well aware of this fact. The word is that plaid is hanging out with stripes and a look at Westfield’s collection and trend round ups¬†shows there is plenty of inspiration for you to interpret into…

At Home Style and Working With My Girl…..

Yesterday was the start of term four with school going back after having two weeks with Cohen on holidays, so we were right back into our normal morning routines. I’ve also had Sarah on holidays and she’s back off kindy tomorrow. With school, kindy and family day care all back into the full swing of things this week, my working weeks will regain some normalcy again until the end of the school year. It’s always a juggle with trying to run and build a business when it comes around to school holiday time, as I need to find different ways…

A Perfect Vintage Seersucker Maxi Skirt for a Picnic……

Early spring, autumn and a good part of winter are a stunning time of year here on the Gold Coast, with perfect temperatures and clear blue skies in the middle of the days. It’s my favourite times of the year to be out and about doing stuff like day trips and picnics. Now that we are into Spring here the mornings start off a little cool, but by mid morning you can certainly feel quite comfortable with short sleeves or singlets. I’m utterly in love with my new to me cotton seersucker maxi skirt (which I like to think looks…

Vintage & Thrifted Style From ProBlogger Conference……

In the days and weeks leading up to this years ProBlogger conference there was a lot of discussion about what people would be packing and wearing for the weekend. Of course there was no doubt, I would be wearing vintage and thrifted fashion. I had SO much fun this year with my outfits and as much as I love the way I dress (because it makes me happy), I certainly didn’t expect to make others happy over the weekend, but it’s nice to know that others got a smile out of and enjoyed my colourful and fun combinations. So here…

Adding Colour to a Thrifted Monochromatic Look……

I’m not scared of colour and playing with combinations and patterns, seriously it’s one of the things that brightens my day and gives me spark. But as much as I have a load of colour in my life and wardrobe, I have previously lacked confidence with styling less “colourful” shades and colours. But as I matured and over the years I have pushed myself more to give things a go with less favoured colours and just throw caution to the wind and say: Heck if it doesn’t work out there’s always a colourful outfit tomorrow to be worn and redemption…

Brighten a Winters Day with Colour….

Often in winter there is a trend in mainstream and current fashion for darker, deeper, richer colours to be popular. I’m a winter lover and adore nothing more than playing with layers and textures and getting all cosy, but I still must have colour somewhere somehow to lift my outfit. Along with that I find colour and brightness to be such a big part in helping keep a postitive and happy outlook. It seems that what I see as simple act of dressing for me brightens others day too, when strangers are compelled to tell me that my outfit has…

Another Outfit Where the Child Stylist Gets Involved…..

If you saw me doing the school run morning and afternoon, you would see I certainly don’t dress like other mums. It’s something I have found that Cohen is quite aware of and I’ve asked how he feels about the way I dress. Cohen says he loves the way I dress, citing it’s cool and different and not like other mums. He will often pay me a compliment or take a look at what I’m trying to put together half way through and get excited and ask if he can help.  Dress: gifted from the sweet sweet love Allison Cardigan:…

Surprise the 80’s Weren’t All That Bad…..

So often when eighties fashion is mentioned people cringe and suggest it’s a whole era in fashion that should be erased from our memories and wardrobes. Granted there were some questionable trends, but the whole era certainly doesn’t require being written off. As most of you know I’m a lover of 1970’s fashion and that has grown into loving the 1960’s and these days I’m seeking out more 1950’s fashion. But the 1980’s has stand out pieces that are complimentary to modern day fashions and vintage lovers wardrobe as well. This 1980’s cotton frock with a graphic print has been…

When a Girl Gets a Load of Vintage Dresses….

I know, I know it’s been a while between a style or outfit post. I’ve been juggling the first few weeks of back to school stuff and other matters here. So although I’m wearing my vintage every day (like I would any other day) and doing my hair and make up and making myself feel wonderful, I haven’t been leaving myself much time most days to get a few outfit photos taken. But I’m slowly finding a new groove to the changes to routine here, so things will continue to settle down and return to normal here on the blog.…

When I lost a Diamond from Wedding Ring…

When Ben an I were planning on getting married we had been together for four years, we were still young, Ben had just turned 22 years old and I was few months shy of my 21st birthday. As young loves do when it came to an engagement ring and wedding bands we didn’t have a lot money to flash around and be indulgent, so I suggested to Ben that we use the rings I had inherited from my Aunts passing a few years prior. For many years I wore my Aunts wedding and engagement rings, but after seven years of…
