“I’m not happy with my body, I’m not a model.”

First thing I want you to know is that you are not alone and personal styling services are for everybody*. No matter your body shape or size, women and men of all variations and walks of life seek the help of a personal stylist these days. Stylist aren’t just for the rich and famous, and all those people we think have got it all and look perfect (perfection is an illusion not a destination).

*My Vintage Childhood & Trudie Bristow hold an inclusive policy regarding all styling services.

“Do I have to get naked in front of you.”

No not at all. As a personal stylist, we do help you dress for body shape, any assessment can be done in what you’re wearing on the day. Of course during a styling session or wardrobe audit you will be trying clothes on, and let’s just say I’ve seen it all, I’ve got bits too. However if you would prefer privacy you’ve got it. It’s about you being comfortable.

“I don’t even know what to wear anymore and what suits me.”

Stop! It’s ok, that’s what I’m here for! I know especially as mothers we can get lost in those pregnancy and early parenting years. I also know that major life events, illness, and grief can affect self care and personal style. I know because I’ve been there, I’ve shed and shared the tears. I know first hand how prioritising my self care and personal style again, after a life changing event in 2008 has had immense impact on my general well being as a person, parent and partner. You’re in safe and understanding hands!

“But I don’t dress like you, I like different things to what you wear.”

A personal styling session is PERSONAL it’s tailored to you. It’s about taking into consideration your personality, lifestyle, working life, body shape and everything else in between. It’s about dressing to flatter your body in a way that also authentically reflects who you are. We are all unique!

“I want to make a change for me, but I can’t afford to buy a whole new wardrobe of clothes.”

As a parent of an Autistic child I am passionate about my services being as inclusive as possible from varying body shapes, additional needs, personal challenges, budget concerns and more. As I am a personal stylist, it’s the personal touch you get and I can work around, with or beyond your concerns.

Should budget concern you, please contact me directly at tmbristow@bigpond.com to discuss possible payment plans or alternatives.

This is certainly not the limit to the statements and questions I receive, but these are frequent concerns for many people. Should you have any further questions, I’m only too happy to address them for you.
