We live to in a world now days where the word BEAUTY appears to have a one dimensional definition. That definition being of course one where society as a general rule deems women’s appearance to be pleasant or not. It’s time to flip the power and say: YOU DON’T NEED TO APPROVE MY BEAUTY STANDARDS.

With an ever increasing surge in positive body movements across the globe, it’s a powerful time to unite with others. In doing so you will not be alone as there are millions of others out there, wanting to regain their power too.

It’s time to shout our own praises and define our own beauty standards and what feels good for the individual. This is not about what looks good, it’s about what feels right for YOU.

What feels right?

The answer quite simply is, whatever makes YOU happy. Beauty is so much more than how something looks, it can be how something feels to the touch, smells, pulls at your emotions or how something sounds.

Beauty is not something to be framed by doubt and questioning, rather I implore you to see beauty as a sensory experience. An experience of what feels pleasant to YOU and therefore how YOU relate to yourself and others.

Let me provide you an example!

Do you know that Vincent Van Gogh, only sold one painting before his death in 1890? Who not only painted what he saw, but how it made him feel. It was his evocative personal expression that challenged others views at the time to see beauty in his work. Yet he kept painting!

I have stood in front of Van Gogh’s masterpiece The Starry Night and believe I have felt BEAUTY. I have felt beauty in what I saw. Beauty in how it made me feel with goosebumps and tingles over my body. Beauty in how it transformed my senses and took me away  from all the hum in the gallery, and made me feel like I was the only one there.

The approval of beauty DOES NOT come at the hand of others, it comes from within us. It’s an ever so personal thing and YOU are the artist in creating YOUR own masterpieces with your bodies and minds.

It’s time to frame the masterpiece that is you, and all the things that make you feel pleasant and provocative. I challenge you to be positively provocative against societies standards of one dimensional beauty.

So screw one dimensional beauty standards that suggest an acceptable size, style or appearance,  and this is is how we’re going show others that:

I don’t need you to approve my beauty standards.

Let me ask YOU! Do you feel you have:

  • Great legs = I want you to own it, say it, declare it.
  • Sexy shoulders = I want you to own it, say it, declare it.
  • A quirkiness about you = I want you to own it, say it, declare it……..CELEBRATE IT.
  • Find yourself humorous = I want you to own it, say it, declare it…….SHARE IT.
  • A kind and giving heart = I want you to own it, say it, delcare it……..TOUCH PEOPLE WITH IT.
  • A sassy walk = I want you to own it, say it, declare it…….and for goodness sakes start strutting, because it’s time for you to own the power in your BEAUTY.

My friends beauty is so much more than the suggestion of these things above. Beauty is in everything that we experience with our senses, our bodies and our minds.

You own your beauty standards, no one else.
